A.P. Moller-Maersk (Maersk) has issued an update on its operations in Venezuela following the current situation affecting the country.
The Danish carrier said: “The safety and wellbeing of our employees, partners and the communities where we operates remain our highest priority, and we continue to closely monitor developments and work with relevant authorities to ensure the safety of our people while minimising disruption to customers’ supply chains.”
Commercial operations at the Port of La Guaira have not yet been authorised to resume. As a result, import and export shipments through the terminal remain suspended until further notice.
Maersk confirmed it continues to operate in Venezuela through all other ports in the country, with the exception of La Guaira.

Acceptance of new bookings from the Intra-Americas network to La Guaira has been suspended due to the situation at that location, though bookings from all other origins to La Guaira will continue to be accepted until further notice.
Maersk also advised that returns of empty containers should be directed to its container depot in Puerto Cabello until further notice.
