Gaussin Manugistique has recently announced the completion of a fully automated container port terminal which is currently under construction in Héricourt, the location of the company’s head office, in Franche-Comté, in the East of France.

The terminal is expected to be operational by the end of May 2015, while the first stone of the control tower, which will complete this demonstration terminal, will be laid on April 28, 2015.

Gaussin’s objective with the construction of this new site is to be able to carry out ‘proof of concept’ demonstrations for clients and prospective clients in order to facilitate purchasing.

The terminal is to be equipped with 120-tonne automatic container cranes and will be co-ordinated with the fleets of Autonomous Inspection Vehicles automated ATT vehicles.

In the first half of 2016 Gaussin plans to launch the construction of new facilities at its Héricourt site: Power Pack assembly buildings, a Power Pack changing building, a show room exhibition hall, storage buildings and offices.

In other news, the company has announced the presentation and official launch for the end of April 2015 of its new Docking Station Straddle Carrier, destined for the port operator market.
