An infographic released by the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) shows its new toll structure in detail.
PTI previously reported that a public hearing had been held by ACP recently to discuss the new toll structure, including the most suitable period for its execution.
The Cabinet Council of the Republic of Panama officially approved a proposal to modify the canal’s toll structure following a recommendation from ACP’s Board of Directors.
Jorge L. Quijano, CEO of ACP, said: “After working in close cooperation with our partners in the maritime industry, I am pleased we will be able to provide a more bespoke pricing solution for our customers; one that recognises their various needs and requests, while still appreciating the value and reliability provided by the route.”
The newly approved toll adjustments for all market segments are scheduled to come into effect on April 1, 2016.
