An infographic released by shipping agents Tuscor Lloyds shows the Port of Houston’s position as the number one container port on the US Gulf of Mexico.
In the infographic, the Port of Houston is shown as handling 230 million tons per year and has created more than a million jobs throughout Texas in the US.
To give a better idea of the volume of cargo that the Port of Houston handles each year, around 8,300 are serviced at the port each year.
According to US import-export gurus Zepol, Houston handled more than 450,000 TEU in the first six months of 2015, compared to more than 359,000 during the same period of 2014.
