Freight forwarder and shipping agent Tuscor Lloyds has released an infographic showing each African country’s total TEU volumes in 2013.
Egypt, Morocco and Port Said can be seen as the regions with the highest container volumes. According to Tuscor Lloyds, container traffic at Port Said and South Africa reached more than 7.1 million and 4.5 million TEU in 2013, respectively.
The West Coast of Africa is currently seeing mega-increases, both financially and in terms of capacity, with an estimated US$99 million spent on Western ports and more than 3.5 million TEU of new capacity will have been added by 2019.
