A video released by Hapag-Lloyd AG via YouTube shows its position as one of the world's largest shipping lines globally, including a snapshot of the company's history and formation.

Founded in 1847, the company employs around 10,000 employees across a total of 113 countries. The shipping company typically transports everything from textiles to food and tech products, but also transports items which cannot fit into a standard-sized shipping container, such as trains and over-sized machinery. By 1970, Hapag Lloyd merged with Norddeutscher to form what is now called Hapag-Lloyd AG.

The company recently merged with Chilean shipping line CSAV, making it the fifth largest shipping in the world.

The total valuation of Hapag-Lloyd AG is said to be worth as much as several billio dollars after the company launched an IPO to list shares onto the Frankfurt and Hamburg stock exchange.
