A video released recently by DP World London Gateway outlines its new warehousing project, the ‘Common User Facility’.
The facility has been constructed at London Gateway’s logistic park, and according to Peter Ward, Head of Supply Chain at DP World London Gateway, the common user facility is: “A building which will be shared-use, providing a multitude of logistics services to the market on a pay-as-you-go basis.”
To manage the facility, DP World has selected logistics provider ‘Import Services’, which has 30 years experience providing logistics services.
Mike Thomas, Client Services Director at Import Services, said: “We will be operating and managing the common user facility, providing services for de-vanning containers, storage, high-volume order processing, picking-packing, and distribution. There will also be an element of cross-docking.”
The facility is anticipated to open in Q2 of 2015.
