This Friday PTI is focusing on this blockchain interview between Arvind Krishna, IBM SVP of Hybrid Cloud, and Bloomberg at IBM InterConnect 2017.

The reason: the world of shipping is about to be radically changed.

It is important to keep up to date with these developments as blockchain may place pressure upon ports as container moves per minute increase as a result of logistical efficiency.

Arvind Krishna stated in the interview: “What the internet did for information, the blockchain will do for transactions.

“I believe blockchain will change the physical world, not just the world of money.”

This message is being repeated by many IBM executives.

The Port of Rotterdam, Europe’s largest shipping port, has already taken steps to stay ahead of the blockchain game as it is part of a blockchain consortium focusing on logistics.

Consortium members will test applications for sharing logistical and contractual information between parties over the next two years.

If you want to learn more about the latest development regarding container moves per minute there is a session examining the topic at PTI's second annual Terminal Automation & Training Conference, taking place in London on April 19-20, 2017.

Hyperloop One’s SVP of Worldwide Field Operations Nick Earle has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for 'Beyond Moves Per Hour and Terminals of the Future', the most popular conference session for 2017.
