ORBCOMM, a provider of dry and reefer container visibility solutions, has announced that Folk Maritime Services will use its smart container monitoring technology to enhance supply chain visibility and cargo protection.
This agreement will reportedly make Folk Maritime the first container shipping line from the Middle East to operate a smart dry container fleet.
Mohamed Badawi, Folk Maritime’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “ORBCOMM’s technology will enable us to further digitalise our shipping operations so we can solve logistical problems, optimise shipment tracking and improve our cargo integrity and protection.
”ORBCOMM’s dry container monitoring technology provides current and historical location reporting to help shipping lines increase asset visibility, streamline operations, boost sustainability, inform routing and more.”
