FERNRIDE appoints new board member

FERNRIDE has appointed a new board member, Guenter Schmidmeir.

Schmidmeir is a seasoned professional known for his knowledge in the container terminal business. With a career spanning 25 years, he has held significant roles such as General Manager at Navis and Senior Vice President of Automation Sales at Kalmar.

Throughout his career, Guenter has demonstrated a deep understanding of the complexities of container terminal operations, especially in the field of automation.

Schmidmeir said: “I have seen many automation products in the last 25 years. When I met the FERNRIDE team and learned about their approach to human-assisted autonomy for terminal tractors, I immediately knew that I wanted to join the mission and contribute by bringing this to more customers.

“This is one of the innovations that our industry has waited for a long time, and I believe that FERNRIDE has the right approach to scale this quickly and globally.”
