Erenhot Port logs 500+ freight trains to Europe

Erenhot port in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in north China has recorded over 500 China-Europe freight trains so far in 2023.

According to local railway authorities, Erenhot port has established a green channel for China-Europe freight train operations since the beginning of the year.

This has led to a 20 per cent increase in container transportation capacity, as stated by Qin Zhicang from the China Railway Hohhot Bureau Group Co., Ltd.

Erenhot port is the largest land port between China and Mongolia, connecting China with over 60 regions in more than 10 countries including Germany, Poland, and Mongolia through 64 China-Europe freight train routes.

In January, the port saw over 1.42 million tonnes of import and export cargo in January, up over 90 per cent year on year, according to the China Railway Hohhot Group
