Easyfresh Netherlands elects BlueBox Systems for transparent cold chain logistics

Easyfresh Netherlands has partnered with BlueBox Systems for enhanced transparency in cold chain logistics, utilising the BlueBoxOcean platform for real-time tracking of perishable shipments.

Easyfresh Netherlands is part of the Spanish cold chain logistics provider Easyfresh Logistics. Easyfresh Netherlands specialises in the logistics of fresh and frozen goods, offering global deep-sea transport solutions in a temperature-controlled environment. The Dutch company now has access to data from 98 per cent of all global ocean freight shipments.

Cold chains have always been the ultimate logistics discipline, according to Easyfresh. This is because maintaining the cold chain is one of the most critical and complex parts of the temperature-controlled transportation supply chain.

According to Easyfresh, with the increasing demand for fresh produce and temperature-sensitive goods in the global supply chain, it is essential that companies have efficient and reliable solutions for tracking and monitoring these products. This ensures that food safety and the quality of pharmaceutical products are maintained during transportation.

With the data from BlueBox Systems and its partner Vizion, 98 per cent of the world’s ocean freight shipments are covered. BlueBoxOcean’s intuitive user interface provides immediate insight into real-time updates on shipment status and cargo location, enabling optimised logistics planning and quick response to any deviations.

The platform also provides an overview of all key container details, including the total number of containers sorted by type, country of origin, country of destination, carrier, and monthly cargo volume. With this information, the container management processes can be organised even more effectively thanks to BlueBox Systems, reported Easyfresh.

“When transporting our temperature-sensitive shipments, complete monitoring and transparency are essential,” said Teun Messemaker, Global Manager of Seafreight at Easy Fresh Netherlands.

“By using BlueBox Systems’ data, we can now offer our customers even better visibility of their shipments and intervene more quickly in the event of short-term problems to ensure smooth transport.

“Verifiable temperature management throughout the supply chain is critical to ensure the quality of perishable goods. For this reason, we intend to integrate BlueBox Systems’ temperature data tracking into our user interface in the near future.”

In addition, Easyfresh plans to integrate the BlueBox Systems solution at other offices, such as Ireland, Chile, and Spain.

“This cooperation with Easyfresh Netherlands underlines the growing demand for transparency in refrigerated transport in ocean freight logistics,” stated Martin Schulze, CEO of BlueBox Systems.

“In this area, too, companies want to plan their routes in the best possible way, save resources and be able to react as quickly as possible to events during transport – and the data we provide makes this possible.

“At the same time, it spurs us on to further improve our BlueBoxOcean platform and offer our customers innovative solutions that meet their needs.”

Earlier this year, A.P. Moller-Maersk (Maersk) opened a new state-of-the-art, integrated cold chain facility at the Ruakura Superhub, New Zealand.

More recently, Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that FreezPak Logistics LLC is investing $77.5 million to construct a 245,000-square-foot cold storage facility in the City of Suffolk to serve the Mid-Atlantic region via the Port of Virginia.
