The new Milazzo dock, managed by Duferco Terminal Mediterraneo, is now operational as part of Duferco Group’s €28 million ($31 million) redevelopment of the Giammoro industrial area.
This investment has transformed the site into an integrated logistics hub supporting global trade and economic growth across the Mediterranean. Once at full capacity, the facility will employ 50 people.
The terminal began operations on 4 June with the successful berthing and unloading of its first merchant vessel, the Deo Volente, coordinated by the Milazzo Port Authority and the Strait Port System Authority.

Arriving from the Port of Marghera, the vessel delivered a 130-tonne transformer for the Raffineria Mediterranea di Milazzo.
Strategically located between Milazzo and Messina, the terminal is designed to facilitate trade between Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
According to Duferco, it offers advanced, sustainable intermodal services by integrating maritime, rail, and road transport.
