DP World Strengthen Thai Trade Ties?

In a bid to discuss how DP World could potentially contribute to the economic growth of Thailand, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World recently met Somkid Jatusripitak, the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, according to Middle Eastern news network Albawaba.

Sulayem said: “The meeting is in line with the strategic orientations of DP World towards enhancing the UAE’s role regionally and internationally as a key player in ports and terminal operation.

“We aim to support the State’s drive to reduce reliance on oil and move towards a diversified economy.

“We are very content with our success in running and operating Laem Chabang International Terminal. We constantly receive good feedback on the level of services that we offer at the terminal.”

DP World recently announced a management restructure in the UK in a bid to synergise its London Gateway and Southampton operations.

The company’s T4 project is also well underway, after it selected Balfour Beatty as one of the key companies responsible for the first phase of the innovative terminal’s construction.
