DP World CEO Meets Brazilian Government
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of leading terminal operator DP World, met with Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro in Brasilia this week, where they discussed investment and future trade growth.
According to a statement, bin Sulayem also met Brazil Minister of Foreign Affairs Ernesto Henrique Fraga Araujo in a meeting which touched on social reform and attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and regulatory frameworks.
DP World Santos, the operator’s Brazilian terminal, is part of its network of key gateways across Latin America, which also include Posorja, Ecuador, Callao and Paita, Peru, and San Antonio and Lirquen, Chile.
It also has operations in Argentina and the Dominican Republic.
In a LinkedIn post, bin Sulayem said the Bolsonaro government’s “vision, through liberal economic policies, is to take the country to a position where it is open for business and where investors can create jobs, infrastructure and wealth for a nation which has so much potential.”
