DP World Australia appoints new chief executive

  • Aurizon executive Paul Scurrah to take over from Ganesh Raj at Australia’s second largest port operator

DP World Australia has appointed senior Aurizon executive Paul Scurrah as its new chief executive.

According to the Financial Review, Aurizon confirmed that Scurrah would be stepping down from his role as the company’s executive vice president of commercial and marketing operations, which he has held since early 2012, to replace Ganesh Raj at Australia’s second largest port operator.

DP World currently owns a quarter of the country’s port business after selling a 75 percent share in 2010 to Citi Infrastructure Investors.

The Dubai-based company, who are also the world’s third largest terminal operator, operates ports in Fremantle, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
