DP World has launched a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) product to support freight forwarders in streamlining back-office operations and driving business efficiently.

According to a recent release, CARGOES Runner manages workflows from end-to-end, with tools to improve per-capita productivity and per-shipment profitability.

The new solution offers customers a dashboard with streamlined quotations; access to quote-to-ship process; digital invoicing; and comprehensive analytics to monitor profit margins and performance trends.

“Freight forwarding can be hugely complex, and a key challenge is coordinating numerous service providers through sluggish and outdated legacy platforms that are often inoperable with each other,” said Pradeep Desai, Chief Technology Officer – Group Technology, DP World.

“CARGOES Runner aims to resolve this hurdle, streamlining these critical operations to help our customers improve customer service, productivity, and profitability.”

The new ERP seeking to enable digital-native freight forwarding will be integrated in DP World’s CARGOES suite.

The news follows the announcement of a new DP World technology centre in Bangalore, India – the second office to be opened by the terminal operator this year.

A third office in Gurugram is set open over the coming months.

Employees at the centre will take on a variety of roles – from developers, product and project management to UX designers, and systems analysts.
