Damen Anchor & Chain Factory (AKF) has shown it remains an expert in welding following the renewal of its ISO certification.
The certificates – ISO 9001 and ISO 3834 – show AKF follows stringent quality management systems and has strict procedures in place for its welders and welding procedures.
The certification addresses all aspects of design and fabrication of welded components, including welding procedure specifications, quality control and quality assurance during welding.
In order to receive the qualification, AKF had to demonstrate its welding and procedures.
Welders have extensive training and experience, and their skills are verified and comply with all applicable codes and standards.
The welding certification, which is part of ISO 9001, was first obtained in 2012 and covers hoisting and towing equipment, anchors and chains.
