  • Dahua Technology has managed to successfully upgrade the security features in Pescara port

Over the past 2 years, Dahua Technology alongside the efforts of their Italian distributors Videotrend s.r.l, has successfully redeveloped surveillance at Italy's Pescara Port which covers the Adriatic coast.

The port covers a dock, freight yard, and one of the largest cyclo-pedestrian friendly sea bridges in Europe.

There were a series of issues encountered prior to Dahua’s taking over in the development. This included dealing with high humidity and difficult weather conditions in the region that would erode devices and shortened their lifespan.

High temperature and moisture may affect the smooth transmission of IP stream during deployment and installation.

In order to solve the mentioned hassles, Dahua, Videotrend and the local system integrator attempted to approach it from a different perspective — the structure.

The new system adopts a ring networking structure with optical fiber adopted instead of a conventional star-topology one.

To further guarantee an adequate bandwidth at 108Mbps for the cycling lane, the radio transmission system was configured at an access point of dual band 2.4/5.8GHz.

At the product front, Dahua 3- and 2-megapixel IR cameras (IPC-HFW3300P / IPC-HFW3200CP) and 2Mp 20x speed domes (SD6982A / 6523H-HN) cruised into the final after a series of testing.

Equipped with lens of 3.3~12mm and 8~16mm, box cameras manage to take a wide range scenario under surveillance.

With the help of high efficient IR LEDs, cameras will render a superb night vision effect.

As for the back-end devices, a Dahua NVR, DH-SVR3016H will be put in use due to its ability to store large volumes of footage as well as its RAID function which enhances the reliability and stability of the system.

Pasquale Totaro, CEO of Videotrend said “The previous problems have been well addressed by this solution, which, at the same time is quite flexible and convenient.

It has been almost over two years since the project accomplished, and everything still goes well. The local officials are satisfied with this project as it not only helps to do with the citizen check, but also makes the whole surveillance system run smoothly.”
