In a recent report from the Cyprus Port Authority, it highlighted the need of modernisation in its internal procedures.

The report aimed to review port performance after the first quarter operating under a new Board of Directors (BoD). It was concluded that the appointment of the new BoD was and is an enormous challenge and an insurmountable amount of modernisation in procedures is required.

Following the report, the port authority is moving forward with an action plan, evolving it into a modern organisation with an investment program for the benefit of the wider community and the port industry and in full alignment with the national sector strategy activities of the authority.

“We want to make the work of the Cyprus Ports Authority as a reference point and model for orderly operation and action. We want the complete utilisation of our potential. We seek synergies for the benefit of all,” said the Cyprus Ports Authority in a statement.

The intention of the new BoD is to continue support towards the local community, upgrade synergies with the involved port industry, and highlight the role of Cyprus Ports Authority.

“In particular, regarding the social actions of the Port Authority in the first quarter under the new composition of its BoD, the actions related to providing assistance to fire victims in catastrophic fires in Greece against during the summer through a multi-day pan-Cypriot campaign for collection of basic necessities, but also the practical support at events charitable/public benefit content that took place on its premises Cyprus Ports Authority,” continued the ports authority.

“At the same time, in various meetings with competent bodies, organized groups and stakeholders, the Cyprus Ports Authority proceeded to creating those necessary conditions that allow for further promotion of the well-meaning interests of the port industry of our Country.”
