A video released by New China TV via YouTube shows Xu Lirong, Chairman of China Cosco Shipping Corporation, discussing the significance of the expanded Panama Canal for global trade.
Mr Lirong believes that the Panama Canal Expansion project, which was officially inaugurated on June 26, 2016, will help his company to gain more competitiveness and also help to downsize costs.
The US and China are currently the top two users of the Panama Canal, which accounts for 6% of global trade transportation.
