CSP Spain orders new Konecranes hybrid RTGs

COSCO SHIPPING Ports (Spain) Terminals (CSP) has ordered 11 eco-efficient hybrid Rubber-Tyred Gantries (RTGs) from Konecranes.

Six machines will be at use at its terminal in Bilbao and five at its terminal in Valencia.

The order was booked in Q3 2022, with an approximate value of €20 million ($19.8 million).

CSP said the order supports its sustainability efforts and will boost productivity at the terminals.

The cranes’ hybrid drives allow for an up to 50 per cent reduction in diesel fuel consumption compared to conventional RTGs. In addition, the safety and ergonomics of the cranes will be supported by Konecranes smart features.

“This order underscores the strength of our RTG offering and we are proud to support CSP Spain in their commitment to increase eco-efficiency and productivity”, said Darryn Scheepers, Sales Manager EMEA, Port Solutions, Konecranes.

Most recently, Terminal Del Golfo (TDG), part of Tarros Group, ordered an eco-efficient Generation 6 Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Crane for its operation in La Spezia, Italy.

The order was booked in July 2022 and the crane will be delivered in the first quarter of 2023.
