China’s COSCO Shipping Corporation (COSCO) has launched multiple special trains to enhance intermodal transportation and address growing customer demand.

On 14 April, the company launched the Huaibei – Lianyungang Sea-rail Intermodal Special Train Delivery Service.

On 18 April, a special train loaded with 40 containers of approximately 1,000 tons departed from Shuangliu Chengdu marking the launch of the China-Vietnam special train delivery service for enterprises.

Following the impact of road transportation disruptions caused by the pandemic, the new services have been set up to ensure the stability of the industrial and supply chain, stabilise foreign trade, and help enterprises resume work and production.

Last month, COSCO Shipping Ports Limited (CSP) announced its annual financial and operational results for 2021, posting a significant improvement in revenue.

In Q4 2021, CSP saw its revenues increase by 25.1 per cent to $347.6 million. Gross profit also increased by 57.7 per cent to $99.4 million.
