Contecon Guayaquil (CGSA), Ecuador’s primary port and a subsidiary of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), has signed a new commercial deal for the Asia-South America (ASA) service.

According to ICTSI, this deal strengthens the port’s access to the Asian market.

The agreement brings back five shipping lines and their customers to the terminal: Wan Hai, Pacific International Lines, Cosco, Evergreen, and Yang Ming.

The ASA service used to call at Contecon Guayaquil until 2015 when it resumed in the first week of November.

In March, Contecon Guayaquil S.A. announced the successful integration of Terminal Tracker by Identec Solutions to enhance its yard operation visibility and planning efficiency.

Six months later, Contecon Guayaquil S.A. formed a strategic alliance with COSCO Shipping Specialized Carrier.
