A video released by Crewmarket via YouTube shows an accident which took place at the Port of Hamburg on the week commencing September 21, 2015, in which a stack of containers toppled over in the container yard as a result of a negligent STS crane operator.

This news follows a recent incident where a mega-ship caught fire at the port, where around 36 fire-fighters had to be called on site to extinguish the flames.

The recent celebration of World Maritime Day focused on the theme of shipping safety and security, highlighting how training and education is vital for ensuring accidents are kept at a minimum at ports and aboard container ships.
