Cargotec has finalised the acquisition of maritime software company Interschalt Maritime Systems AG after receiving regulatory approvals.
The announcement that Cargotec was to acquire Interscahlt was made on January 20, 2016.

Cargotec have stated in a press release that the company hopes to lead in the intelligent cargo handling market, using the procurement of the Interschalt to strengthen areas such as software strategy.
As of March 2016, Cargotec intend to consolidate the financial results of Interschalt with those of Kalmar and MacGregor.
