CMA CGM has released its financial results for Q3 of 2014, recording a strong performance throughout the year.
Consolidated revenue amounted to US$4.4 billion in Q3 2014, which is a 6.4% increase compared with Q3 2013.
Over the first nine months of 2014, the group’s turnover amounted to a total of $12.5 billion, a 4.3 % increase with respect to the same period in 2013.
Volumes carried increased by 8.3 % to 3.2 million TEU in Q3 2014.
Carried volumes have reached their highest level over the group’s history thanks to the lines deployed in high-growth areas. This growth stems in particular from Asia-Europe, intra-Asia, Oceania, Africa, and through reefer transport.
CMA CGM has also worked to tackle CO2 emissions by modifying 15 of its vessels. This innovation has resulted in fuel and CO2 emission savings in excess of 5% per voyage.
The strategic ‘O3’ vessel sharing alliance between CMA CGM, CSCL and UASC, announced in early September, is anticipated to be launched in early 2015.
