Artificial intelligence is to become part of CMA CGM’s ongoing digital transformation after the third largest container shipping company revealed that Infosys, an Indian multinational specializing next-generation technology, will help develop its business model through a seven-year partnership.

CMA CGM will use Infosys Nia's artificial intelligence platform and its scalable automation platform, AssistEdge, to modernize its customer service, improve the execution processes and improve its internal performance.

The partnership will see both companies pool their expertise on projects that  focus on systems, applications and products in order to provide CMA CGM with what it envisions will be “new high value-added technologies that will improve its agility and responsiveness”.

CMA CGM said that it aims to “simplify and transform” its IT applications and improve customer service by opening a centre for development and innovation with Infosys in Marseilles, France.

Infosys will also take over the CMA CGM IT development centre in Dubai to strengthen the carrier line’s presence in the Middle East.
