A video interview and animation released by CMA CGM shows the container line’s new building Vice President Ludovic Gerard as he articulates the process of constructing a CMA CGM containership.

PTI previously reported on a video showing various phases of the MSC Oscar’s construction, including steel cutting and assembly of the ship.

Ludovic Gerard said that the process can last as long as two years, with the first step being the design and drawing validation to then having the shipyard construct the vessel and delivering this back to the container line.

He goes on to say that incorporating radars and navigation maps are important for, not only the safe navigation of ships, but also for lowering fuel consumption.

Maersk Line has recently implemented its environmentally shipping containers as a way of lowering its carbon footprint.

In other news, CMA CGM has recently announced that it has taken a strategic stake in the 25-year-old company LCL Logistix, one of India’s logistics leaders.
