Cameroonian Prime Minister, Philémon Yang has signed a decision regarding candidate shortlisting for a container terminal concession at the Kribi deep water port in the southern region of the country.

The companies in line to build the container terminal are global port operator, International Container Terminal Services, and a consortium led by Bolloré Africa Logistics, the French industrial group who is already managing several container terminals in Sub-Saharan Africa, according to Business Cameroon.

In order to land the container terminal concession at the Kribi deep water port, Bolloré group has partnered with China Harbour Engineering Corporation (CHEC) and shipping line CMA CGM..

The Cameroonian government has integrated into the new call for tenders a clause requiring that bidders build the second container terminal at the Kribi deep water port along 700m of quay.

CHEC is said to be an essential link and partner for those hoping to land the deep water port’s first container terminal.
