French Liner CMA CGM has announced its plans to partner up with United Arab Shipping Corp (UASC) and China Shipping Container Line (CSCL) in a global alliance named ‘Ocean Three’.

The alliance has made three agreements to cover the Asia-Europe, Asia-Mediterranean and transpacific and Asia – US East Coast trade routes.

CMA CGM said the agreements combine vessel sharing, slot charter, and slot exchange, as well as building upon an existing plan by UASC and CSCL to cooperate on a 18,000 TEU vessel trade agreement.

Rodolphe Saadé, vice chairman of CMA CGM said: “This will allow us to propose to our clients a high quality and reliable alternative to existing services on the market. CMA CGM will continue its global development.”

CMA CGM said the agreement still requires the approval of the US Federal Maritime Commission.

The French Liner also said agreements for the transatlantic routes are yet to be finalised.
