CMA CGM partners with JA Solar to advance maritime decarbonisation

CMA CGM has partnered with JA Solar, a prominent provider of photovoltaic power solutions, to advance sustainability in the maritime supply chain.

This collaboration supports CMA CGM’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, leveraging its ACT+ range of low-carbon solutions to help decarbonise operations.

In 2024, JA Solar’s adoption of sustainable fuels resulted in the prevention of over 500 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

The ACT+ range, central to CMA CGM’s decarbonisation efforts, offers alternative energy solutions such as biofuel, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and biomethane.

JA Solar expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: “Our collaboration with CMA CGM is a strategic move towards a greener future.

“The tangible carbon reduction we’ve achieved through the ACT+ solutions is a clear indicator of our joint success in energy transition!”

The CMA CGM Group handled 6 million TEUs in Q3 2024, a 5.5 per cent increase from the same period last year, and recorded a total revenue of $15.8 billion, reflecting an increase of 35 per cent.
