Charleston, SC, USA - August 07, 2022: White Shark, a 294-meter container ship owned by CMA CGM and flagged to Malta, sails out of Charleston Harbor.

CMA CGM has announced that its new terminal investment in Alexandria Port, Egypt, is ready to accept its GETEX and WEMED services.

The M/V ATLANTIC MONACO was the first vessel to call at the newly invested in Trans Misr Terminal (TMT) on 9 February on the GETEX service.

The M/V CMA CGM FORT SAINT PIERRE will be next to call at the terminal on 14 February on the WEMED service.

This new investment in the TMT terminal will enable CMA CGM to further grow in the region, improve service reliability, and improve customer service.

To begin with, El Dekheila and the Alexandria Old Port ACCHCO terminal will no longer be called by these services due to the implementation of the new Egyptian call.

Other SSL MED services calling El Dekheila and Alexandria Old Port ACCHCO terminal will switch to calling at this new TMT Terminal.

CMA CGM will announce the launching dates of these services at a later stage.

This announcement comes less than a week after CMA CGM announced a new setup for its North Europe to East Med-Levant area service.
