French carrier CMA CGM has extended its temporary rerouting of the SAFRAN service to Southampton for four more consecutive voyages.
CMA CGM noted that the changes come amid the ongoing port congestion situation at London Gateway.
To maintain schedule reliability on the North Europe – East Coast South America loop, the following vessels will now call at Southampton (GBSOU) instead of London Gateway (GBLGP) for four more consecutive voyages:
- SAN LORENZO MAERSK – ETA 3 July
- SAN MARCO MAERSK – ETA 10 July
- MAERSK LONDRINA – ETA 17 July
- CAP SAN ARTEMISSIO – ETA 24 July

The French shipping giant recently entered a partnership with Saigon Newport Corporation to develop a new deep-water terminal in Haiphong, northern Vietnam. Scheduled to begin operations in 2028, the terminal is expected to handle up to 1.9 million TEUs.
The project, structured as a public-private partnership, involves a total investment of $600 million.
