CMA CGM adds Egypt to GLT offering

CMA CGM reshuffles GTL service connecting Greece, Egypt, Turkey and Libya

CMA CGM has announced the reshuffle of its GTL – Greece Turkey Libya Express service, which will now also include Egypt.

This comes soon after CMA CGM confirmed the integration multimodal transport company Containerships into its business.

The rotation duration is being extended from 21 days to 28 days to enhance coverage.

According to CMA CGM, the new features of GTL are the following:

  • Fleet: Four 1,200 TEU vessels
  • Frequency: Weekly – 28-day rotation
  • Rotation: Thessaloniki – Port Said East – Beirut – Iskenderun – Malta – Misurata –Bingazi – Malta – Pireaus – Thessaloniki
  • Improving connectivity with Egypt among East Med countries
  • Adapting market opportunities for reefer imports
  • Optimising schedule with better flexibility
  • Starting on 10 July 2023 with MV Mayfield

In June, CMA CGM announced a rescheduling of its Turkey Med Express 1.2 service (TMX1.2), which will include Gebze, Turkey in the rotation as well as Djen Djen, Algeria in place of Bejaia.

That same month, CMA CGM introduced its new seasonal weekly service Turkey Libya Express (TLX) connecting Asia with Turkey, Libya and Red Sea.
