An infographic released by Dalian Maritime University Professor Theo Notteboom shows the market share of total TEU traffic for some of the major regions in mainland China.

PTI previously reported on an infographic released by Professor Theo Notteboom that outlined the market share of some of the top European ports in the Hamburg-Le Havre range.

This infographic shows the massive shift in total TEU market share of the main Chinese port provinces.

Shandong province is currently one of the highest grossing container trading regions in mainland Chins and has more than 200 million TEU of traffic passing through its ports.

Chinese container volumes are expected to boom between now and 2020, with TEU growth anticipated to be as much as 6% year-on-year over the next 10 years.

This projection comes despite the recent slowing of global port growth in Q1, 2015, following periods of sluggishness and a slow rate of recovery.

The Port of Shanghai is currently the fastest growing port in China, with TEU volumes reaching more than 35 million in 2014, a near two-million increase from 2013.
