Bulker and tanker firm Castor Maritime has entered the boxship sector purchasing two vessels.
The Cyprus-based firm entered into two separate agreements to acquire a 2005 German-built 2,700 TEU containership vessel, from two separate entities owned by family members of the company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Petros Panagiotidis.

The purchase price for such vessels is $25.75 million and $25 million, respectively.
The delivery of the vessels is expected to take place by the end of 2022.
Castor Maritime Inc. was founded on September 2017. Offices are located in Limassol, Cyprus.
Castor currently owns 20 bulk carriers and eight tankers.
