Carrier alliances shake-up records strong schedule reliability
Global container schedule reliability rose to 54.9 per cent in February 2025—its highest level since May 2024.

According to Sea-Intelligence’s latest Global Liner Performance report, on a year-on-year (YoY) level, the February 2025 score was higher by 1.8 percentage points in schedule reliability.

The improvement comes amid major shifts in the liner alliance landscape, including the launch of Gemini Cooperation and Premier Alliance, and the phase-out of 2M and THE Alliance.

Sea-Intelligence also highlighted MSC’s position, noting that while the carrier is not part of an alliance, its extensive solo operations on East/West trades mean it cannot be overlooked in an alliance context.

“It is nevertheless an interesting data point, to see how they have performed on the initial origin arrivals.”
