Carles Rúa Costa is the Chief Innovation Officer at the Port of Barcelona.
Carles Rúa Costa is an industrial engineer. His professional activity has been developed in the fields of logistics and the management information systems, where he has acted as a free-lance engineer and for consultancy companies.
In the university field he has carried out his teaching activities in the Department of Business Organization of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (BarcelonaTech) for more than 25 years.
He is also director of the Master Executive in Lean Supply Chain Management (BarcelonaTech) and teacher of the Escola Europea for Intermodal Transport.
About the Port
The Port of Barcelona is Spain’s third and Europe’s ninth largest container port. The Port increased container traffic by 15% and set new records of activity in 2018. It has two international terminals: APM Terminals Barcelona and BEST. The Terminals feature 17 container cranes and more than 3,000 metres of berthing line.
