Konecranes acquires Spanish port crane service firm
Konecranes has acquired the nuclear and port service divisions of Coapsa Control Sl, a crane services company based in Viladecavalls, Catalonia.

The acquisition, effective from 1 July, supports Konecranes’ strategy to grow its Industrial and Ports Services divisions, adding an experienced team at the new Viladecavalls location to its existing Spanish port and industrial service network.

Jordi Calatayud Castañ and Joan Quintana Canudas, owners of Coapsa Control Sl, said: “Together with Konecranes, our entire team can continue their work and expand the business with confidence for the future.”

Catarina Lopez, Manager, Port Services at Konecranes, stated: “The acquisition strengthens Konecranes’ presence in Catalonia and the whole of Spain and ensures that the in-depth knowledge and expertise of Coapsa’s team remain accessible to nuclear and port customers.”

Konecranes said its focus on customer service and business growth, underpinned by investment in digitalisation and technology, continues to shape its position in the material handling industry, alongside efforts to improve the efficiency of material flows in support of decarbonisation, circularity and safety.
