Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) handled 46.3 million metric tonnes of cargo in July 2026, an increase of 15 per cent compared with the same month last year.
The port operator said growth was recorded across all cargo categories during the month. Dry cargo produced the largest disclosed increase, rising by 21 per cent year on year.
APSEZ’s cumulative cargo volume for the first four months of its 2026 financial year reached 184.4 million metric tonnes. This represented another 15 per cent year-on-year increase.
Container cargo and dry cargo each rose by 15 per cent during the year-to-date period, according to the operational update. The filing did not provide absolute tonnage or TEU figures for the individual cargo categories.
The July figures indicate that the overall growth rate for the month was in line with APSEZ’s performance across the financial year to date. However, the dry cargo increase recorded during July was higher than the growth reported for the category over the four-month period.

APSEZ also reported separate figures for its logistics rail operations. The business handled 51,020 TEUs by rail during July.
Rail container volumes improved by 5 per cent compared with the preceding month, but remained 16 per cent below the total recorded in July 2025. This means the monthly rail operation showed sequential growth while continuing to trail the previous year’s level.
For the year to date, APSEZ’s logistics rail business handled 196,330 TEUs. The cumulative total was 18 per cent lower than in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
The figures show a difference between the performance of APSEZ’s port cargo operations and its rail container activity. Cargo handled across the port portfolio increased on both a monthly and cumulative year-on-year basis, while the rail business remained lower than last year despite its improvement from June.

The operational statement did not include a port-by-port breakdown of the 46.3 million metric tonnes handled in July. It also did not disclose how much of the overall monthly cargo total was contributed by containers, dry cargo or other categories.
The port cargo figures are presented on a year-on-year basis, while the July rail update also provides a comparison with June 2026.
