A fire has broken out on a vehicle carrier vessel, the Auto Banner, at South Korea’s Port of Incheon.
There are yet to be reports of casualties on the 52,422-ton, Panama-registered ship, which caught fire at approximately 9:40 am local time on May 21, 2018 (0039 GMT).
Korean news agency Yonhap stated in its report that all of ship's 28 crew have managed to evacuate unharmed.
Firefighters have tried to control the blaze; however, the ship, which was carrying over 2,000 cars bound for Libya, was reportedly still on fire after seven hours of authorities tackling the blaze.
The 199-metre-long vessel has only one large point of entry, which is the gate at the back of the ship for unloading cars.
This has hindered efforts to put out the fire, with one picture showing a firefighting helicopter dropping water upon the top of the ship.
According to reports taken from officials, the source of the fire may be an overheated car engine igniting within the ship.
The vessel entered the port from the US on May 19 and was due to start its journey to Libya on May 22.
