A video released by Port Metro Vancouver outlines its plan to build the Robert Banks terminal in Delta, British Colombia, which is a three-berth terminal that is scheduled to be completed by the mid-2020s.

PTI previously reported that DP World had purchased the Prince Rupert Container Terminal in Canada for around US$450 million to boost its business portfolio.

Demand for container trade along Canada’s West Coast is expected to double by 2030, even with current developments taking place across a number of regional container terminals, meaning that more capacity will be needed in the next decade.

The terminal hopes to add around 2.4 million TEU in capacity with the new terminal project, with the capability to moor three container ships simultaneously.
