After three years of developing the Hateco Hai Phong International Container Terminal (HHIT), APM Terminals (APMT) has joined as a 49 per cent minority shareholder and operating partner alongside the Hateco Group.
The move follows the successful ramp-up of the terminal, which now efficiently handles vessels of up to 18,000 TEU.
HHIT is the largest and most advanced deep-water port in North Vietnam, featuring two new berths in the Lach Huyen area of Haiphong City.
Its strategic location and natural deep-water conditions allow direct imports and exports between northern Vietnam and European and American markets.

Throughout the project, APMT has contributed best practices on safety, port automation, artificial intelligence, process optimisation, and decarbonisation, reflecting shared priorities as public-private partners. HHIT has also been incorporated into the Gemini Cooperation.
