The Busan Port Authority (BPA) has signed a contract with Korean information technology services provider Samsung SDS to operate a logistics center in Rotterdam.
The agreement was unveiled at a ceremony on 18 February, according to a statement from the Port of Rotterdam. The BPA will begin construction of the logistics centre in September 2020, with operations due to begin in June 2021.
Samsung SDS will provide comprehensive logistics services for small and medium-sized companies conducting business between Europe and South Korea for 10 years from the opening of the logistics center.
The announcement is the latest collaboration between the BPA and Rotterdam. In June 2019 the BPA agreed to open a 20,000-square metre warehouse on the Maasvlakte Distribution Park West, in the Port of Rotterdam.
