A video has shown just how close a bulk carrier came to hitting a break wall after running around in Minnesota’s Duluth Harbor in the US.

Duluth Seaway Port Authority had to temporarily close the harbour on June 17 to free the grounded 1000-foot ‘American Spirit’, which stopped 50 feet from the break wall at approximately 3:30 pm local time.

There were no reports of injuries or pollution, and the vessel was once again floating at 10:00 pm with the help of the rising tide, managing to leave for examination under its own steam on June 18.

The vessel was undamaged by the incident, which is currently under investigation.
