In an exclusive PTI interview with Mark Fahey, CTO at BISON, he explains during Intermodal Europe 2016 how the SOLAS Container Weight Verification Requirement’s impact upon the shipping industry has brought about new opportunities and challenges.
Fahey says that prior to the regulation the industry lacked suitable equipment for weighing containers accurately and that its implementation has taken place “smoothly”. He puts this down to the “light-touch” of BISON’s employees, but has seen containers rejected due to the new requirements and has plans to develop BISON’s application with new products still to come.
