Union Portuaria boosts fleet with Terberg tractors
Union Portuaria del Pacífico has invested in around 40 Terberg terminal tractors to ease internal transport constraints at the ports of Acajutla and La Unión.

Union Portuaria del Pacífico has strengthened operations at the ports of Acajutla and La Unión following internal transport constraints by investing in a fleet of approximately 40 Terberg terminal tractors.

The port operator, which has used Terberg equipment since the early 2000s, said the new units are expected to operate at high intensity across both facilities.

According to Chief Executive Officer Luis Canto, the tractors are projected to achieve utilisation rates of around 600 hours per month.

He said the company selected Terberg primarily for its reliability, noting that he had previously experienced the quality of the manufacturer’s equipment at other ports.

Canto added that Union Portuaria continues to view Terberg as a trusted partner due to the quality of its machinery and aftersales service.

He reported that whenever issues arise, support is readily available from Terberg teams in Malaysia, Miami and the Netherlands, as well as from its distributor Movil Uno in El Salvador, with problems resolved quickly and professionally.

Last May, Konecranes Lift Truck entered a new distributor agreement with Terberg Tractors Belgium, enhancing its presence in the Belgian material handling equipment market.
