With events across all industries being postponed and cancelled because of the impact of COVID-19 more focus than ever has fallen on the new ways businesses are meeting, collaborating and generating leads in the digital space.  

Webinars are not a new concept, but the way they are now being utilised by all sectors is testament to the communicative power of the internet in a time of social distancing and self-isolation.

PTI recently hosted two webinars in March, each with over two hundred people registered to listen in and over 150 of those in attendance for each session.

It is clear that despite the postponement of live events people are still in desperate need of industry information right now.  

More companies than ever are finding that webinars are the best way to interact with potential customers which would normally take place at live events.  

Many webinar platforms also provide the ability to answer live audience questions, show video presentations, run polls and even host virtual meet-ups, essentially allowing for the core event-going experience from the comfort of your own home.  

It is also worth mentioning that the power of webinars as a lead-generation tool should not be understated.  

Because the vital information discussed during PTI’s webinars is not available elsewhere, huge numbers of industry-relevant people are signing up to attend these sessions.

Given that for some businesses lead generation has been paused, digital solutions like this can be the difference between a company falling behind or positioning themselves as leaders in their field during this very uncertain period. 

Even when, or if, normality returns the events landscape will have been forever impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the world will surely have shifted to a more digital way of life.  

Although some companies may be slow to adapt to the new world, the data suggests that the use of digital distribution methods like webinars are going to be an integral part of the future to come.
