Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has inked a concession deal with Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) to build Berth No. 13 at Deendayal Port in Kandla, Gujarat.
APSEZ has established a wholly owned subsidiary, DPA Container and Clean Cargo Terminal Limited (DPACCCTL), which will operate the berth.
In July 2024, APSEZ received the Letter of Intent (LOI) for the development, operation, and maintenance of the berth for a 30-year concession period.

APSEZ revealed that it will construct the dock utilising the Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) technique for multipurpose clean freight, which includes container cargo.
Berth No. 13 is 300 metres long and has a capacity of 5.7 million tonnes per year. It is expected to be commissioned in fiscal year 27.
Ashwani Gupta, Whole-time Director and CEO, APSEZ, said: “Berth No. 13 will diversify our presence at Deendayal Port. We will now handle multipurpose clean cargo at the port, in addition to dry bulk cargo that we already handle. The berth will further consolidate our position on the western coast and enhance our ability to service customers in Gujarat and north India.”
In August, APSEZ released first-quarter results registering its highest-ever EBITDA and profit after tax.
